On Tuesday the first of April 2008 we had to make some decisions. It has been very wet and the ground is still quite squelchy in places. But the broad bean seedlings, now more than 10 cm tall, are outgrowing their peat pots. So here they are, transplanted to their new position with a generous helping of compost. We spent part of the morning checking out other allotments. We found only four or five plots with evidence of newly planted potatoes. So we planted just eight of our First Early Portland Javelin tubers, leaving the rest to carry on chitting for a few more weeks. A. sowed a row of spinach. The rye mix is doing well.
